eye vision

My 7 yr old son has 6/24 eye vision when tested ,is it a bad condition,is he really needs any medication or galss to improve his eye vision.

thanks and regards,

Answer
Dear Cicin,

You definitely need to visit a good ophthalmologist or eye doctor, one who sees children (pediatric ophthalmologist) is even better.

The reason is that your son already seems to be developing 'lazy eyes' or amblyopia.

He needs to be checked up regularly, probably need patching of the poor eye to help it push to read better.

Also, Vision Therapy is known to help kids...these are simple eye exercises and workouts.

If in Mumbai, we can help. However, this is best done before the child turns 9 years of age, after which the visual pathway gets fully developed and no amount of treatment may help.

There are no medicines or surgery...this is simple visual rehab called Vision Therapy.

Write back to dranand@lasikindia.in for details.

Many good eye doctors are available in Dubai too.

Hope this helps,
