Extreme eye redness

Question

Hi, my eyes are extremely red all the time, year round, all times of the day.  Ive been prescribed eyedrops like pataday, and another steroidal eye drop but nothing seems to fix this problem. Recently my vision has seemed to get more blurry as well.  I do wear contacts but even with my contacts out my eyes remain red.  My eyes often burn and water as well and sometimes are pretty sensitive to light.  What could be going on in my eyes that is making them so red?

Answer
Dear Mike,

This is definitely not just allergic. First, stop using any contact lenses. Second, you need a thorough examination including the retina, dry eye evaluation and probably a course of homatropine eye drops with a steroid under supervision of an ophthalmologist.

Hope this helops,
