Could the beginnings of the retina make her think she saw a bug.

Question
This is about a detached retina - well the beginnings of it

I dont have that at all. Background: About three weeks ago I found a bug in the shower, killed it - looked like a moth but not a clothes moth.

Yesterday: Mom saw something she thinks flying near her bathroom, but we could not find it any where. But of course I panicked and went thru all of my clothes, found no holes

She has the beginnings of a detached retina.

Could the beginnings of the retina make her think she saw a bug.

Answer
Dear Debbie,

A detached retina will have visual symptoms, yes, maybe something like a hair floating in front of your vision etc but the same does not go away, it is constant.

The retina of course needs to be immediately treated.
