corrective eye surgery

Question
In July of 2006 I suffered form an pseudonymousness (sp?) infection in my right eye. There is a small scar just about o'clock on the edge of my cornea. I am still under a cornea specialist care once a year to make sure the scar tissue remains the same. Can I be a canidate for corrective eye surgery? My vision prescription in that eye is

-450.

Answer
Dear Tori,

The scar seems to be out of the visual axis, if the scar does not interfere with your vision, you could go in for an evaluation for LASIK.

However, one needs to chck if the scarring is not because of any keloid formation etc which may then interefer with your healing process.

If the scarring was not because of your tendency for keloid formation, then one need not worry.
