My Perrenial Hayfever: Primarily Affecting My Eyes...

Question

Beginning in May, 2002 my first symptoms of the perrenial hayfever I have now were of fatigue and I just didn't feel very energetic at all. Soon afterwards I felt like I had "cold eyes" and I went to the doctor and was given some claratyne to use and I thought I would be all set.

The claratyne did nothing. Then I felt like my eyes were blurry and I went to see an eye specialist only I was told my eyesight was perfect, besides, I had never had any trouble reading in my life. Infact I've always been an avid reader.

Now this is going to sound strange but in about August 2002, my eyes stopped being purely blurry and settled into a state whereby I was always seeing the 'left' and 'right' sides of my nose. This wasn't glaucomaglaucoma, as I have always been able to have great peripheral vision since this all began so in a sense the two sides of my nose that I'm constantly seeing are "shadowy" and "blurry"....."transparent".

I thought that this would pass by the end of 2002 so I could go into my final year of high school feeling my best but it persisted right into year 12 and as a result I was relatively depressed and very withdrawn from myself throughout the whole year while struggling to find out how to cure what I had as tablets and drops wern't doing anything and nasonex sprays just controlled my sneezing...

A few months ago I made an appointment with the "Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat" hospital in the city as I had recently found some interesting information on the internet about "turbinates" which are a shelf like structure in the upper part of the nostrils that when in flamed *perhaps by dust mites* can cause problems within the nose. Hopefully a procedure within the next few months could solve my "perenial hayfever" dilemma...?

Tomorrow, I'm starting an experimental Chinese Accupuncture treatment for the duration of 8 weeks that is to see how effective accupuncture is pertaining to perrenial hayfever. Perhaps that will achieve something?

Have any of you ever heard of the symptom I've mentioned and/or do you have any advise for the best treatment that could be taken?

Do you think the problem I described with my eyes is a direct result of "turbinate expansion" ,as regardless of whatever drugs or drops I've taken nothing has altered my state.

Thankyou.

P.S. Some of my other symtoms include:

- Voice being continually tired and bottom of throat feeling unwell.

- Sneezing

- Not feeling at most energetic.

Answer

Hmm...OK, are your eyes itchy or watery or anything? If so, then it's probably allergies. Is your nose stuffy? If it is, that could mean you are breathing threw your moth...which would make your throat hurt. Try drinking more fluids, to sooth your throat...tea with honey is good!
