Question:
I need some help. I was once on medication that caused dry eyes. That was 8 months ago, and am still suffering from it. My eyes would only get dry when my contact lenses were in so i used eye lubrication just in the morning and i would be fine for the day. However, very recently, I find myself having to reapply lubrication. Eyes are also getting dry when contact lenses aren't even in. Could this be a symptom of something more serious? I was at the optometrist about 4 months ago, and he didn't find any problems with my eyes. However, I didn't tell him about me having dry eyes. Have my eyes become dependant on lubrication? Any advice would be great.
Answer:
Dry eyes can be a problem, your cornea can get scared! There are eye gels to use,I use them regularly and find them helpful.Don't use the stuff to get redness out,it maks it worse!See your dr as there is dry eye syndrom you need to be checked for. There are lubricating drops that really work quite well. I used them when recovering from PRK. biontears or refresh are considered the best, although they are a bit expensive. You should see a doc so as not to cover up a problem.
