Question:
Hi. I am continuing a little from the post by "Jester" about 'fuzzy vision'...Him[her] & I have the same problem as we get blurred vision upon wakening in the morning..This lasts anywhere from 1 hr. to 3 hrs. for me-(up to 1/2 day for 'J')..It varies..Usually with me it is in one eye only..usually my left..every now & then in my right eye, & when it is the right, the left does NOT do it...(strange)I have had my vision checked-it is 20/20...I have been tested for glaucoma, pressure in the eye, had my eyes dilated, etc. I went to see several eye DR.s during the time my eye(s) were blurry..They all said the eye/cornea looked 'scratched'...which meant 'dry eye'..??? No Dr. ever really gave me any reason my eyes get blurry for having "Dry Eyes" nor any cure for this...It is absolutely driving me crazy as this keeps happening...Has anyone else gotten blurred vision/fuzzy vision from dry eyes? I am curious! Thank you for your time.
Answer#1 :
Blurred vison in the morning that clears up and is variable is often associated with diabetes. As the sugar levels in ur blood vary though the day, the index of refraction varies in your eye and ur vision changes.
Diabetes is also associated with dry eyes. But there are several other explainations as well. Do you have any other symptoms like recent weight gain, fatigue, morning back pain, lack of energy?
Answer #2:
I have been checked for diabetes and also do not have the problems you listed. This has been going on for 8 years. I have however, finally found something that seems to work. It is an eyedrop called: "TheraTears", which I had recommended to "Jester" on his post(it is on the 2nd page now under "fuzzy vision"). I had been using these eyedrops last yr. and quit when I saw they were preventing the blurriness. I have since learned that you need to continue always with these(just not as much). I started this again, and once again it has worked! Other things though seem to bother me such as: certain lotions for my face or eye creams, certain eye make-up, ceiling fan being on, humidifier empty(no water). ????? If at night, I wash my face, fill the humidifier(don't ask?), leave off the fan, and use the drops FAITHFULLY, then I don't get the blurred vision in the mornings. I can only hope this continues to work for me. Thanks again for your help.
