Question
I've been diagnosed with Blepharitis and have been doing the warm compresses, baby shampoo lid scrubs, twice daily for a couple weeks now. My main concern now is that there are several red veins that have appeared in the whites of my eyes and they never go away. Are these permanent now or will they eventually go away?
Answer
Dear Alison,
Red veins in the white of your eye is a separate issue from Blepharitis which is in the eye lids.
However, both could be linked to some allergic eye condition, dandruff etc.
this needs to be evaluated and also checked as trail and error by you, as to what exaggerates the redness or blepharitis.
Soemtimes activities like swimming etc also increase the frequency.
So, it will need keen observation from your end.
until then (until a cause is determined) is symptomatic management, which is what you are doing now.
No, the redness disappears but may re appear with the trigger.
Hope this helps,
Best,
