Question
I would be grateful for your advice on the following eye problems. Last month I temporarily lost part of my vision in my right eye for around 10 seconds, it was like a grey blind was obscuring around 50% of my vision, however eye tests and an MRI Head and Neck scan have not found a reason for this but I am still concerned. Also, prior to this Ive noticed what looks like a moving flashlight when my eyes are closed, also some light flashes and in my right eye for a long time - floaters, but hardly any at all in my left eye. In my left eye Ive had a few episodes of blurring for several seconds and I am not sure which eye this is from but a large circle appears and gradually gets smaller then disapears within seconds. My age is 54 yrs and I am shortsighted. Should I remain concerned or is this due age etc?
Answer
Hi Linda,
If the vision is lost and has not returned, it is unlikely to be missed in the visual field tests etc.
However, if you mean that this vision comes and goes, it could be like an ophthalmic migraine, or fluctuation in blood flow to the head, face neck regian.
This calls for a good attentive GP or family physician who can check your blood pressure and other parameters at various intervals and figure whats happening when the symptoms are present and not gone away.
It may not be from the eye itself, so please look at other reasons as well,
