cataract and glaucoma

Question
Hello

1-   Which type of cataract surgery is better for glaucoma patient?

2-   Is it true that when cataract becomes old, it becomes hard, and cataract surgery becomes difficult?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Allen.

Answer
Dear Allen,

Yes, with the recent advances in cataract surgery, the ideal time is to perorm the same when it starts to interfere with the daily work and also if it is getting mature.

One today does not waittill the cataract hardens as it increases the risks during surgery.

There are various cataract implants or IOLs, even ones which give benefit for both near and far sight like Crystalens.

The kind is not specific for Glaucoma, but needs to be deteremined after examining the eye to know the eye condition, also the kind of lifestyle you lead.
