White fleck visable in child's eye

Question
I noticed yesterday a little white fleck in my 7 month old's eye.  It is very tiny and can only be seen when you are really close.  It sits over the pupil area.  The reason I am concerned is that it has not moved positions like forgien objects do.  What could this be and is this something I should see a doctor about?

Answer
Hi Cheryl:

A white fleck over the pupillary area could possibly be a congenital anterior lens opacity called a "Mittendorf Dot"and requires no treatment or it could also be in the central cornea and also will not move .  In either case, it will not affect the child's visual development.  Hope this helps you out.

Hi again ; Iwas concerned that you felt the answer i gave you was not clear. Perhaps I can improve upon the clarity of the answer.  Specifically what is it that you don't understand?  Dr. Berger
