Question:
Hi, I'm having a strange vision problem. Any help or advice is appreciated. I'm a 31 yr old male. My eyesight is very good, no glasses, etc. It has maybe deteriorated slightly over the last 5 years due to computer use (letters just slightly less sharp but not enough to require glasses).
My problem: I noticed about 2 or 3 years ago that upon turning off the lights at night, that I could not see as well out of one eye in the dark. For instance, if I close my right eye, it is "darker" in the left eye, and if I close my left eye, it is "brighter" in the right eye. The difference is not noticeable when both eyes are open.
Additionally, in dim light, when looking at the wall, I notice that there is a more yellow, dimmer "hue" out of the left eye, but a brighter, whiter "hue" out of the right eye. These differences are not really detectable outdoors.
This is not a huge problem for me, but one that has made me curious enough to inquire about it on these boards. Thanks.

Your symptoms are almost identical to mine. A couple months ago, I also noticed that one eyes was seeing darker than the other. Then, I noticed a yellow circle that looked like it had a hole in it. I saw it when I looked at white walls. Since then, I see a yellow tint when I look at lighter walls.
I went to my eye Dr and he said my eyes were fine and that what I saw was harmless. In a darkened room when I close the good eye, I see a gray spot. In daylight, when I'm outside, I do not see the yellow or gray spot. It seems that the gray spot has replaced the yellow and is covering my central vision in my right eye. Except in daylight, I only see a gray fog in my central vision (right eye only)
I went back to the Dr. this week and he said I have fluid behind my retina, and he referred me to a retina specialist. He thinks I may have "Central serous chorioretinopathy." This condition normally affects younger people up to the age of 50. I'm 55. Sometimes, it just goes away. My Dr. said they will treat it and if it does not work, they will do Laser surgery.
Mine came on fast, or I just never noticed it before. It never hurts to have it checked out. I just wish I had not waited four weeks before going back. Now, I'm seeing a purple floater. At night, the lights are purple and huge, making it almost impossible to drive. The good eye still sees lights normally.
