Question
Hi,
My name is Dawn, I am 33 years of age and just went the other day to the eye doctor to have my eyes examined...I can't even remember the last time I went so I thought it was time. I have been noticing a difference in my vision. My vision has become blurry at times and people tell me I squint a lot. I went to have them checked and found out that I do need glasses and I will have to wear this all the time. I was wondering if this is a common thing at my age..and why now at age 33 do I need them..Is it because as we age our eyes change too?? Please write back when you get time. Thank you,
Sincerely,
~Dawn~
Answer
This is very hard to say without knowing if you are now nearsighted, farsighted or have astigmatism. And a lot of the answer may depend on what you do for a living.
For example if you work at a computer all the time, and you have a small amount of astigmatism, it could become problematic over time.
If you are farsighted it is normal for your eyes to get worse as you get older and the Rx can keep getting stronger over time no matter what type of job you have.
Nearsighted people do not generally get worse in their thirties but again, if you work a desk job all the time, it could happen.
I am sorry I cannot be more specific but if you were to send me your Rx and tell me what you do for a living I could be more helpful.
