Question
Things have gradually been looking slightly darker, just in my
left eye, kind of like light gray sunglasses. There's a kind
of vague, greyish area (I call it the grey slime) that used
to lurk just out of sight to the lower left, but has now become
more visible. It's most noticeable in bright light; when bright
light hits the eye, a vague grayish "blob" will obscure what I'm
looking at. There's a feeling of something in my eye, like I
got lotion in it or something. Light shining in my left eye
"feels" different than in my right. My opthalmologist could
not see anything in my eye; the lights she shone in my eye made
the opaque area really stand out. My retinal scan was normal.
I'm scheduled for a visual field test. Have you ever heard
of anything like this?
Answer
Dear Tam,
It is best to get a full dilated eye check done with a good Ophthalmologist as one cannot go by the subjective description to diagnopse the issue.
The visual field test is done to know if pressure increased in the eye in anyways has affected your optic nerves.
If you want an opinion after the diagnosis has been made, I would be happy to help. You may write back with the doctors findings.
